Can I wait if my eye is very painful or vision worsens after surgery?

Do not assume severe pain, new or worsening vision loss, or other unusual symptoms are normal healing. Contact the surgical clinic immediately for eye assessment; if prompt care is unavailable, use emergency ophthalmic care or an emergency department. Do not wait for routine follow-up, change or add drops yourself, or drive yourself.
